Cachly - Geocaching App Reviews

Does everything I could imagine. I love the radius feature - allows you to see where another cache might be located. So many other great features! And great support - quick, practical, understandable answer to my question.

New to geocaching and this app is user friendly and easy to use!

I just deleted my other geocaching app after using this one for just a few hours. It is almost perfect. It is worth much more than I paid for it.

Like most others I started with a stand alone gps, and later purchased the old groundspeak app. I have no idea what the true intent of the new official app is, but to say I was greatly disappointed and underwhelmed is an understatement In contrast I have nothing but praise for this app. Definitely worth the small price to pay for such an impressive app. The list of features is impressive, and everything just works intuitively. My only note is that I do have a premium geocaching account, and am unfamiliar with the apps interactions with a basic account.

If you cache with an iPhone, this is the app for you. Well worth the money. Updates are frequent with a very responsive app creator/owner. Latest update includes the ability to view geocacher profiles with messaging. Vector maps that take less data to load. Off line maps so you can geocache without cellular coverage. I really cant say enough about this app. For less than the cost of a fast food meal you can own the best geocaching app available.

Ive been looking for an app that does everything this app does - I love that it shows you your DNFs! You can even easily see the ratings on each cache and easily log trackables. You dont have to immediately log either, which is something that I miss with the new official geocaching app. The only reason I dont give 5 stars is because there doesnt seem to be an easy way to take away a log you may have written in the app that you have already put online while at a computer. That seems to be the only flaw, and I would make the rating a 4.7 stars if I could. Thanks for the app!!!

Ive tried several geocaching apps over the years, but havent found one that I considered helpful until now. I tried out the app on what I thought would be a cache-and-dash. It worked so well I continued on and found 6 caches in a matter of an hour. Very usable and organized.

Ive been using Cachly for quite some time now. I have become so used to the things that Cachly does with ease that I dont know when Ill use my handheld again. There hasnt been a thing that I have wanted to do that Cachly couldnt do.

Do not pay for this app! My daughter downloaded a free app and it had the exact same information! This app offers nothing Worth $4.99. You can get "extra info", but on only 3 geos before you have to pay for a membership! Why did I pay for this app?!

Havent been using the app long but the time I have spent with it has been smooth and easy. Ive feature set, active development at the moment. Easy to use.

I wouldve give this app a higher rating if there were .5 increments. Its almost perfect. With the pending retirement of the "classic" Groundspeak app, I was forced to find something new for my iPhone. I dont like the free app because it lacks features an experienced Geocacher uses all the time. Today I did a 30-cache run in a remote area with friends to try out Cachly. I used it in both live online and offline modes. I was very pleased with its performance especially real-time uploading for field notes on the fly. When I cache like I did today, I wait until I get home to write my logs. Field notes are my savior. When I had poor cell service, I saved the field notes to my phone to upload in bulk later. HOWEVER, I can not find an option to do that. I have to go back and do each one manually. How hard would it be to do a bulk upload of offline field notes? Thats the one and only drawback I see, otherwise its great and I wouldve rated it a solid "5!"

I love geocaching! Ive been doing this for about four years. Geocaching has taken me to some places I would never have thought to go to. I love the hunt for the cache. When I got started I purchased a Garmin Dakota 20 for its accuracy. Then I downloaded the app for my iPhone and as I got better and better at geocaching I was using the iPhone exclusively. I love the Geocaching.com app but what bothered me the most was when I lost cell tower signal. Then I heard that Geocaching.com was going to update the app with a remote location feature. I read some of the comments about this and I was disheartened to learn that I was going to have to pay more for this feature. Then I read about the Cachly app and I investigated. For the small price I download the app to my cellphone and I started playing with and learning what it had to offer. WELL! Let me tell you....Im really excited about the Cachly app. What an improvement over what I had been using. Obviously it was an app designed around what users wanted. I love the remote maps and remote PQ features. I cant say enough good things about this app. Thank you to the designer. I for one really appreciate what youve designed.

I too decided I needed to play around this app a little more seriously with the upcoming shutting down of the official Classic geocaching app which wed been using for four years. Love seeing our DNFs! But by far the most improvement over the other app is the caches shown with corrected coords in their actual locations. Really love being able to export the lists I just made to my iPad so I can have them on both devices. Cant wait to actually get in the field and actually find some caches!

This is THE BEST app for geocaching. Better than the Groundspeak app.

They must have listened to the complaint, requests & suggestions because they hit a home run with this app.....only thing that would make it better is if would rotate to landscape on my iPad.

So I sat down and played with the app for an hour and now Im ready to go on a 10 day off line caching run!

Outstanding app! Miles upon miles better than the "new" groundspeak app. Please dont ever go the route that they did. Keep calm and cache on!

As someone who loved the classic Geocaching app and really dislikes the new official app, Ive been testing a variety of third-party apps and Cachly is my new favorite. If you prefer Google maps and use an iPhone, this is the app for you. Easy to use, intuitive and Nic the creator is very responsive with any issues. (Hint: If you change your username, beware of Groundspeak-induced repercussions relating to data calls for any third-party app.) Overall, Cachly gets a huge thumbs up from me.

Wow!!! With the org. Geocaching app. Being retired and not likening the new app they did I went by recommendation and purchased this app. Again Wow!!! Used it for the first time yesterday on an over cast afternoon. it got us with in less than 5 ft of every cache we looked for. It is very easy to use and well worth the purchase price. Looking forward to continuing to use this app.
